About the Position
TLC's Communications department shapes and amplifies narratives that strengthen transgender and allied movements, ensuring critical analysis and storytelling reach the right audiences. We center Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) and trans voices, lead with authenticity and joy, and mobilize communities toward collective action in support of trans lives.
The Digital Coordinator will play a key role in bringing this mission to life across our digital platforms. We are seeking a creative, self-motivated, and metrics-driven professional. This person must be serious about digital work, self-motivating, and thrive in a fast-paced environment that balances proactive content strategy with rapid response work. Working closely with the Senior Digital Programs Manager, this person will manage our editorial calendar, create compelling content, and analyze digital performance to ensure our programming reaches our priority audience, including trans and gender expansive communities, their caregivers, loved ones, and supporters. The ideal candidate is comfortable across social media platforms, skilled at translating values-driven storytelling into measurable impact, and deeply committed to uplifting trans, BIPOC, and disabled communities.
Key Responsibilities
Audience Understanding & Strategy:

Monitor and analyze digital metrics related to engagement with our target audiences.

Use monthly reporting insights to optimize performance and refine digital communications strategy, such as identifying best and worst performing content across all platforms and using insights to inform future content.

Stay abreast of trends and new best practices in digital organizing and storytelling to maintain an appealing, high-quality digital presence.
Content Creation:

Project manage editorial calendar for external, audience-facing content.

Curate a cohesive user experience across platforms, working with the Senior Digital Programs Manager to ensure that our brand and engagement tactics are consistent and effective.

Generate compelling and innovative digital content to highlight the work of our programs, policy, and legal teams.

Promote and support organizational digital programming, such as webinars and virtual events that share news updates and opportunities to get involved.

Create visually appealing graphics to complement written content.

Proofread written materials as needed.
Collaboration:
-
Usher all content through the review process to ensure visibility and approval by organizational decision-makers.

Work with Policy and Programs team to design and publish rapid response content related to emergent political, policy, and litigation issues.

Support digital content creation and posting for key organizational fundraising campaigns.

Work with and across teams to share audience understanding insights with the rest of the organization.

Work closely with our video production consultants to develop and execute video programming, from low-cost selfie-style videos, multi day activations, all the way to high cost production for digital ads.

Participate in organization-wide activities and shared responsibilities that support team alignment and culture.
Qualifications & Requirements

1-3 years of previous digital experience at a comparable organization or company

Experience managing editorial calendar of a comparable organization or company
-
Experience researching, evaluating, and reporting on organizational digital and earned media metrics

Proficiency with Instagram, Facebook, X, and TikTok
- Must have experience with Excel, Word, Outlook, and Air table, Slack, or other similar tools preferred

Must have technical experience with virtual events and webinars, including Zoom Meetings, Zoom Webinars, Facebook Live, and YouTube Live

Strong writing and editing skills
- Excellent organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail

Enthusiasm for the work of the organization and a
commitment to uplifting Trans, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color communities, migrants, people living with disabilities, people living with HIV, youth, and elders
