Compensation range: $1,500 to $2,000 AUD / Monthly

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Role Overview: The Digital Content and Communications Officer is responsible for developing, managing, and delivering high quality digital content and communication strategies across a diverse group of organizations. This role ensures all entities maintain a strong, engaging, and consistent online presence that aligns with core values and brand identity while effectively growing audiences within the Australian market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Website Development & Management
    • Develop, manage, and maintain organisational websites, ensuring content is current, accurate, and visually engaging
    • Oversee website upkeep, performance, security, and functionality
    • Implement and manage SEO best practices to improve visibility and search rankings
    • Update website content to support campaigns, events, services, and strategic initiatives
  • Digital Content Creation
    • Edit and produce video clips and photos for digital platforms, including:
      • Social media reels
      • Posts and stories
      • Website and promotional use
      • Plan, schedule, and publish content across social media platforms
      • Use of artificial intelligence to create content and animations
  • Design & Print Media
    • · Design, print and digital materials, including:
      • Flyers
      • Posters
      • Event collateral
      • Reports and promotional material
  • Digital Marketing & Advertising
    • Create and manage targeted digital advertising campaigns (e.g. Meta, Google Ads)
    • Develop campaign content aligned with organisational goals such as awareness, engagement, and growth
    • Track, analyse, and report on campaign performance
  • Brand & Communications Support
    • Maintain consistent brand representation across all platforms
    • Support internal and external communication initiatives as required
    • Collaborate with leadership, ministry teams, and service teams to communicate key messages effectively
    • Utilising artificial intelligence to drive efficiency and effectiveness on online platforms

Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Essential

  • Experience in website development and content management (e.g. WordPress, Squarespace, Webflow or similar) (Critical)
  • Strong skills in video and photo editing for social media (Critical)
  • Graphic design experience for both digital and print media (Critical)
  • Knowledge of SEO principles and website optimisation (Critical)
  • Strong written and visual communication skills (Critical)

Desirable

  • Experience working in a modern evangelical faith-based, not-for-profit, or disability services environment
  • Experience with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Meta Insights, etc.) (Highly Desirable)
  • Experience creating and managing targeted digital ads (Highly Desirable)
  • Experience using artificial intelligence for online platforms to create content and to simplify systems and processes
