About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Mechanic to perform mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance on company vehicles, heavy equipment, and related machinery. This position includes travel as needed to support field operations, including emergency response situations and maintenance assignments at other locations. Travel includes per diem and overtime.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment, trucks, and motorized machinery
Follow daily work assignments provided by the Shop Foreman
Minimize downtime by proactively coordinating parts, tools, and workflow
Complete work orders accurately and on time
Record mileage, hours, dates, and repair descriptions clearly and legibly
Report urgent repair needs to the Shop Foreman for prioritization
Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Maintain tools and equipment in a clean and orderly manner
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient completion of repairs and maintenance
Perform additional duties as assigned
Travel Requirements
Travel may be required for work assignments, repairs at other locations, emergency response, meetings, or training
Per diem and overtime are provided for travel days
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience with heavy equipment, trailers, cranes, or related machinery
At least 5 years of experience in two or more technical areas, such as: Hydraulics, Electronics, Small engines, HVAC Diesel or mechanical systems
High School Diploma/GED required
Technical/vocational training or factory/dealership service training equivalent to an associate degree in diesel/mechanical repair
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with a sense of urgency
Able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills
Ability to read, write, and communicate job-related information effectively
Physical Requirements
Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, walking, standing, kneeling, and climbing
Ability to work in various weather conditions
Ability to work extended hours when needed
Regularly lift up to 50 lbs; assistance required for items over 75 lbs
Certifications & Licenses
Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
Technical/vocational training and hands-on mechanical experience (minimum 5 years)
Relevant professional certifications in heavy equipment maintenance and repair
