The impact of the role:

The DevSecOps Engineer will be a critical team member of the DevOps Chapter responsible for embedding security into our development and operational processes. You will collaborate closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure our applications and infrastructure are secure, reliable, and compliant. Your mission is to make security seamless, automated, and an integral part of our CI/CD pipelines.

On a given day, a DevSecOps Engineer will:

• Integrate and automate security tools within CI/CD pipelines to streamline vulnerability detection, enforce security controls, and ensure secure software delivery.
• Design, manage, and provision cloud infrastructure using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to enable scalable, repeatable, and secure environment deployments.
• Implement robust observability solutions, including monitoring, logging, and alerting systems, to proactively detect threats, identify anomalies, and support timely incident response.
• Ensure platforms, pipelines, and infrastructure adhere to regulatory requirements and security best practices by enforcing compliance standards and performing regular audits.
• Partner with development, operations, and security teams to promote secure coding practices, embed security throughout the SDLC, and support a strong DevSecOps culture.
• Support security incident detection, analysis, and mitigation by contributing to response efforts, performing root cause analysis, and implementing preventative measures.

Requirements

In order to be successful in this role you will need:

• BSc. and/or  MSc in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering or proven related experience.
• 3+ years in DevOps or security engineering. 
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions). 
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization. 
• Knowledge of security frameworks and tools. 

Amazing if you have:

• Certifications (e.g., CISSP, CKA, AWS Security). 
• Experience with SAST/DAST tools. 
• Familiarity with zero-trust architecture. 
• Exposure to threat modeling and risk assessment.
