JOB SUMMARY:

The DevSecOps Engineer SME is responsible for building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure utilizing knowledge in continuous integration, delivery, and deployment (CI/CD), Container Orchestration and Security. Build and test end-to-end CI/CD pipelines, ensuring that systems are safe against security threats.

The DevSecOps Engineer SME will provide subject matter expertise associated with related services including software engineering, DevOps, platform and infrastructure management, data management, automated testing, architecture development, security engineering and network engineering. May support infrastructure, platform, and application systems to develop, deploy and operate software systems in on-premises and air-gapped environments. Addresses complex problems in areas such as systems integration, compatibility, and on-premises environments.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Automating and deploying DevSecOps systems
  • Creating and updating Terraform scripts to support DevSecOps systems
  • Using GitOps tools, e.g. ArgoCD, to create, manage and deploy Helm Charts to Kubernetes clusters
  • Working with the Platform One suite of services including Party Bus and Big Bang
  • Troubleshooting and working with Kubernetes technology including pods, services, and custom resources
  • Overseeing, automating, and streamlining container and security operations in a virtual environment
  • Integrate security practices throughout the software lifecycle, minimize vulnerabilities in source code and internal applications, and ensure processes are running smoothly
  • Automating processes (Terraform, Ansible, Python, Chef, PowerShell), working with containerization and orchestration (Docker or Podman, Kubernetes or OpenShift Container Platform), detecting security threats and vulnerabilities, and working in an enterprise-level virtual environment. 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience applying agile methodologies to the system development life cycle
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code/Configuration-as-Code & IaC Automation
  • Experience with Kubernetes or OpenShift Container Platform
  • DoD 8570 certification – or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Experience managing, testing, securing, and releasing software using automated tools
  • Experience developing, testing, and deploying technologies to build automated Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipelines
  • Experience supporting infrastructure, platform, and application systems to develop, deploy and operate software systems on a cloud hosted Kubernetes container platform
  • Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, Gitlab CD, Gitlab Runners, GitOps/ArgoCD, Helm, Kubectl
  • Virtualization experience
  • Experience automating DevOps processes (Ansible, Python, Chef, PowerShell)
  • Experience detecting vulnerabilities in source code and internal applications

EDUCATION: Bachelors with  9+ or Master with  7+ Years of Experience

LOCATION: Full Time/ On-Site in Huntsville, AL

CLEARANCE REQUIRMENT:  Secret

DOD 8570 REQUIREMENT: IAT - Level II

SALARY RANGE: $ 130,000 to $ 155,000

Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base salary.
