About the Role

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Subject Matter Expert (SME) to play a critical role in designing, implementing, and operating secure, scalable, and highly available platforms across multi-cloud environments. This role is hands-on and strategic, working closely with engineering, security, and operations teams to embed DevOps best practices and uplift platform maturity.

You will be a trusted technical authority, contributing to cloud architecture, automation, CI/CD pipelines, and operational excellence across enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deep expertise across Microsoft Azure (identity, security, networking, AKS, storage), with exposure to GCP/GCVE and AWS highly regarded.
  • Strong DevOps & IaC experience using Terraform, ARM, CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub, Bamboo), and Git-based workflows.
  • Deliver and operate containerised platforms (Docker, Kubernetes/AKS) and automate systems using PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and observability using Splunk, Nagios, and cloud-native tools.
  • Apply security-first practices, supporting compliance frameworks (APRA, CIS), vulnerability management, and policy-as-code.
  • Solid networking and infrastructure knowledge across hybrid/cloud environments, including Windows & Linux, VMware, Citrix, and VDI platforms.
  • Work with cloud-native, serverless, and reliability practices (Agile, GitOps, SRE), supporting incident response and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate effectively across teams while maintaining clear documentation and operational runbooks.

Requirements

  • 7+ years’ experience in DevOps, Cloud, or Platform Engineering roles within enterprise environments
  • Deep hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure, including identity, networking, security, and AKS; experience with GCP / GCVE and AWS advantageous
  • Senior DevOps / Cloud Engineering experience in enterprise environments
  • Strong Azure expertise (identity, networking, security, AKS); GCP/AWS exposure valued
  • Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and ARM
  • CI/CD pipeline design and operation (Azure DevOps, GitHub, Bamboo)
  • Production experience with Docker, Kubernetes (AKS), and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
  • Advanced Linux and Windows Server administration
  • Monitoring, observability, and security across cloud platforms (APRA, CIS)
  • Strong networking fundamentals and hybrid/cloud infrastructure knowledge
  • Experience with virtualisation, VDI, and modern DevOps/SRE practices
  • Proven incident response, documentation, and cross-team collaboration 

Certifications (Highly Desirable)

  • Microsoft Azure certifications
  • Google Cloud certifications
  • AWS certifications
  • Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD) or other relevant DevOps certifications
