DevOps Linux Senior Engineer (REF4444W)

We are looking for a skilled Senior Dev/OPS Engineer responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructures, software deployments, and assigned technologies. WHAT WILL YOU DO?

• Commissioning, system testing and operation of Linux systems (Suse, Ubuntu, RHEL, Oracle Linux) on hardware as well as virtualization or container environments with the support of a tool chain
• Use of existing automation tools, such as SuseManager, Salt or Rundeck
• Develop and maintain automation scripts with tools such as Salt
• Ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of Linux-based systems
• Perform troubleshooting, monitoring, and performance tuning of Linux servers and their independent processing in complex cases
• Processing of order and change measures
• Integration of new customers into existing Linux operating environment as part of transition projects
• Creation of Linux service descriptions and updating of documentation, e.g. CMDB, or Confluence

• The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of hands-on experience in a similar position
• Linux administration (various distributions - Suse, Ubuntu, RHEL, Oracle Linux)
• Scripting (e.g. Terraform, Bash)
• Solid understanding of hardware (HP preferred)
• High availability and clustering solutions (Pacemaker)
• Understanding of AKS container performance and utilization parameters desirable
• Docker / Kubernetes administration and container orchestration desirable
• Icinga know-how desirable
• Confident handling of the entire MS Office product range
• Experience with ITIL processes

Languages:

• English - Upper Intermediate (B2)
• German – Upper Intermediate (B2)

Desired Certifications:
The ideal candidate would hold or be willing to obtain some of the following certifications:

• LPIC-1 or equivalent Linux certification
• LPIC-2 or equivalent Linux certification
• LPIC-3
• Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
• SUSE Certified Administrator (SCA) or SUSE Certified Engineer (SCE)
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or equivalent
• Terraform Associate or equivalent
• ITIL Foundation certification
