Devops Engineering Manager

What you’ll achieve

As a Manager, you will be responsible for managing the activities of a managing infrastructure and onboarding new services. You will work with internal and external partners on the analysis, design, development, and maintenance of Site Reliability Engineering.

You will:

• Perform a light amount of HR responsibilities as the first line manager for team members

• Establish goals and expectations for team members that align with company policies and standards

• Coach and mentor team members to help identify and achieve career growth opportunities

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership to establish a team chartaer with achievable goals and strategy that align with the company objectives

• Plan, prioritize, and coordinate development activities and delivery of customer value with other business functions including Support, Customer Success, and Product.

• Monitor progress, identify challenges, and recommend adjustments to the plan based on actionable engineering metrics

• Foster an environment that enables the team to thrive and achieve results while maintaining a healthy work-life balance

• Be accountable for outcomes and culture of the team

• Possess a basic understanding of the architectural and technical foundations of your area of ownership

• Advocate to maintain and advance Technical Excellence, e.g. Observability, Scalability, and Stability

Essential Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to mentor and support team members in their professional development
• Hands-on experience with agile and lean methodologies, including metrics-driven approaches to governance and delivery
• Strong grounding in DevOps principles, treating them as first-class deliverables rather than afterthoughts
• Practical experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines
• Proven track record maintaining large-scale software systems in production environments
• Comfort operating in and managing highly scalable, distributed environments
• Strong communicator across multiple formats — from one-on-ones with direct reports to async collaboration with cross-functional teams

Desirable Requirements

• 7+ years of experience across software development and/or operations
• 3+ years leading and managing engineering teams
• Working knowledge of integration services and how they connect broader system ecosystems
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and microservices design patterns
