Role Summary
This role is for an L1 Software Engineer, focusing on supporting a DevOps team within an engineering organization comprising 200+ engineers. The incumbent will play a crucial role in contributing to the delivery of security product updates, impacting over 100,000 customers globally. The primary responsibilities include supporting the existing DevOps infrastructure and collaborating with the team to improve and optimize processes. This position offers a pathway for professional growth and skill development.
What you will do
- Assist in maintaining and enhancing the existing build framework utilizing Git, Jenkins, GNU make, and Bazel.
- Participate in Linux/Unix Systems Administration tasks.
- Help identify and integrate open-source or third-party build and developer tools with existing systems to enhance engineering efficiency.
- Contribute to the design and development of resilient Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for various products.
- Support in responding to operational events and troubleshooting/resolving issues.
What you will bring
- Essential Skills
- 2 years of experience in software engineering, with exposure to build and release processes.
- Basic knowledge of Git, Jenkins, Ansible and scripting using languages like Linux shellan Python
- Hands-on Knowledge on Linux Operating Systems (Ubuntu, Redhat, CentOS)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline concepts and basic troubleshooting.
- Understanding of Release Engineering methods on Git (GitFlow or customized GitFlow).
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform, focusing on basic virtualization and infrastructure as code (IaC) concepts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Desired Skills
- Development experience in C/C++ is an asset.
- Basic understanding of cloud systems (AWS) and their scalable deployment.
- Familiarity with monitoring strategies for complex systems.
- An interest in the security domain or security testing is advantageous.
- Eagerness to learn and grow within a team environment, with a focus on collaborative problem-solving.
