DevOps Engineer

 Essence of the Role:

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our dedicated Infrastructure team. In this role, you will focus on building automated systems and tools to streamline the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of our platform, which is primarily based on an event-driven micro-service architecture powered by EKS/Kubernetes. Your expertise will assist development teams by creating tools and workflows for automatic provisioning of cloud infrastructure, pipelines and monitoring/observability at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the reliability and efficiency of our platform. 
  • Create and maintain CLI tools and Kubernetes operators so developers can easily build their own infrastructure.
  • Enhance logging, monitoring, and alerting frameworks. 
  • Look for ways to improve our ways of working and technologies we use.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in collaboration with application development teams. 
  • Assist teams with deploying their services on our platform.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Extensive experience working with Kubernetes platforms in production environments. 
  • Strong background in AWS cloud services. 
  • Expertise in tracing, logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions (e.g., Grafana Loki, Datadog, Elasticsearch). 
  • Proficient in automating infrastructure management using IaaC tools such as Crossplane or Terraform. 
  • Familiarity with GitOps methodologies. 
  • At least a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience. 
  • Experience with GitLab CI/CD. 
  • Experience in building and maintaining Kubernetes operators and CLI tools in Go is advantageous.
  • Experience in building and maintaining observability platforms in the Grafana ecosystem is advantageous.
