This position is within the Tolling Services team of Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions Hungary. The team consists of IT professionals specializing in electronic road-charging solutions. Together with our partners, we develop and operate intelligent, kilometer-based tolling systems for international customers, covering the entire business process (vehicle registrations, country booking, providing On-Board Units, position data transmission, charge calculation, and fleet billing). Leveraging digital intelligence and advanced technology, our tolling solutions facilitate seamless mobility across Europe. The team aims to enhance existing services and expand into new domains. As part of an international team collaborating with T-Systems International, you will play a key role in supporting our customers with cutting-edge tolling solutions.

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to operate and enhance our access and computing services, including RDS environments, AWS Workspaces, Windows-based bastion hosts, Jumpservers and virtual machines used across the Tolling platforms.
This role ensures secure, stable and high-performance access for engineers and operational teams.

Main tasks

As DevOps Engineer:

  • Access Systems Operations: Operate, configure and optimize Remote Desktop Services (RDS) and AWS Workspaces, maintain and harden Windows-based access hosts / bastion hosts and Application Servers, operate and maintain Jumpserver environments
  • VM Operations: Operate virtual machines (Windows & RedHat), incl. EC2 instances, support VM lifecycle: provisioning, patching, configuration, performance tuning, ensure availability and stability of the VM landscape
  • Security & Hardening: Implement secure access configurations (policies, firewall rules, OS hardening), maintain logging & auditability for access and VM systems, support compliance with internal security guidelines (ISO etc.)
  • Automation & Infrastructure as Code: Automate provisioning & configuration of AWS Workspaces, Windows VMs, use PowerShell, Python, Bash, Terraform, Ansible for automation
  • Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitor access systems and VMs for performance & availability, resolve incidents related to Workspaces, RDS, Windows access & VM operations
  • Collaboration & Documentation: Work closely with cloud, platform & security teams, maintain up-to-date documentation on access configurations & VM procedures
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest security threats, DevOps trends, and access control technologies. Implement improvements to enhance efficiency and security.

Background and required skills:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in the following areas: Computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, natural science, mathematics, business or equivalent work experience in IT
  • 3+ years in DevOps, System Engineering or Windows/Linux operations
  • Strong experience with RDS, AWS Workspaces, Windows Server (2019, 2022, 2025) administration
  • Hands-on experience with VM operations (Windows & Linux, ideally in AWS)
  • Automation scripting: PowerShell, Python, Bash
  • Managing of Windows Systems via Group Policies
  • Experience with Terraform / Ansible is a plus
  • Understanding of secure access architectures & OS hardening
  • Fluent English & collaborative mindset
