We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to lead and support our cloud infrastructure initiatives, with a strong focus on AWS. The ideal candidate will have experience managing Java applications running on Tomcat, working with MS SQL databases, and supporting enterprise application environments. This role will be instrumental in migrating legacy applications to the cloud, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability across our systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure to support Java applications.
  • Manage deployment, scaling, monitoring, and troubleshooting of applications running on Tomcat.
  • Oversee and optimize MS SQL Server environments in the cloud.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support rapid application development and deployment.
  • Partner with development teams to ensure smooth application migration from on-premise to AWS.
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions for application performance and availability.
  • Apply security best practices across infrastructure, data, and applications.
  • Optimize cost, performance, and reliability of cloud environments.
  • Provide operational support and on-call assistance for critical production systems.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or System Administration.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, CloudFormation/Terraform, etc.).
  • Experience deploying and managing Java applications on Tomcat.
  • Proficiency in managing and tuning MS SQL Server in cloud environments.
  • Solid knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, BitBucket, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.).
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code (CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar).
  • Experience with application migration to AWS from on-prem or hybrid environments.
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with observability tools (Uptrends, Datadog, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
  • Familiarity with network and application security in the cloud.
  • Prior experience in automotive or manufacturing SaaS environments.

This role has a location preference for candidates based in the United States, Bogotá (Colombia), or Buenos Aires (Argentina).

Currently, Campfire is working remotely with the exception of bi-weekly in office time.
