ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Platform engineer to join our Platform Engineering team for a permanent position.
We’re an industry-leading organization continuously reshaping how consumers interact with their loyalty programs. We work with the world’s largest airline, hotel, financial, and retail rewards programs, to tackle complex challenges and come up with innovative e-commerce solutions. We’re building out our next-generation infrastructure here at Plusgrade and leveraging automation to maintain and improve our current platforms and processes. WHAT YOU'LL DO
Reporting to the Platform Engineering Lead you will be responsible for:

Work closely with the Team Lead and lead key epics within the team

Mentor, coach other platform engineers in the team
-
Propose innovations, solutions within the team, to external stakeholders and lead these solutions to production

Be part of the team to architect, build & migrate our next-generation infrastructure based on Kubernetes (on-prem) to the Cloud
-
Migrate internal microservices and data services to this new infrastructure
-
Build and support CI/CD pipelines (we use GitLab) to meet security & software compliance and improve observability of the system through monitoring and alerting

Manage & build our tooling in Python, GoLang and NodeJs

Constantly evaluate & improve our current infrastructure

Support and work alongside Engineering teams and Operations

Advocate for Platform within the organization - this includes people, process and technology.
YOU ARE SOMEONE WITH
-
Strong proficiency in AWS (EKS, managed services, VPC, IAM) and Kubernetes — deploying, operating, and troubleshooting workloads in production
-
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI preferred) and GitOps tooling (ArgoCD)
-
Solid Infrastructure as Code experience — Terraform required, Pulumi a plus

Deep Linux systems knowledge; comfortable diagnosing issues at the OS, process, and network level

Strong networking fundamentals: VPCs, subnetting, NAT, firewalls, VPNs, DNS

Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language: Python, Go, or Bash/Shell

Strong understanding of Platform Engineering and DevSecOps principles — you think about security, reliability, and developer experience as first-class concerns

Experience with observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, alerting) and a habit of instrumenting what you build

Comfortable working Git-based workflows: branching strategies, code review, merge/release processes

Strong communication skills — able to explain infrastructure decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
