The Development Manager leads an agile engineering team responsible for building and maintaining internal business tooling and system integrations, combining people leadership with hands-on technical expertise to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions aligned to business priorities.
Requirements
What You'll Do:
- Lead and supervise engineers in an agile development team, responsible for building and maintaining internal business tooling and system integrations
- Drive the team's execution of and adherence to software development processes and plans
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment
- Actively manage team member's performance, setting performance-oriented goals and providing regular feedback
- Designing architecture of software systems and integrations, ensuring they are maintainable and secure
- Ensuring reuse and integration of existing systems to avoid duplication across the internal tooling ecosystem
- Writing and breaking down user stories and tasks in technical detail
- Running code reviews
- Translate business priorities into actionable items for the team
- Manage priorities of tasks and deadlines
- Owns the quality of the code and output of the team
- Run agile and SCRUM daily stand-ups, sprint planning and backlog refinement sessions
- Hands-on contribution to code and software architecture design for various projects
What You'll Bring:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to break down complex problems and devise creative solutions
- Strong leaderstg4r.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Working experience as a software engineer
- Experience in software architecture and design, you will have the ability to recognise and implement good designs across the full stack
- Experience with Typescript, React, Next.js, Python, Postgres, Git, Jira is mandatory
- Experience in working with and integrating third party APIs is desirable
- Experience working within opinionated frameworks (e.g. Next.js) and following their conventions properly
- Architecting software to run on container orchestration engines such as Kubernetes and Docker
