About the Role:

Development Manger

myAgro is seeking two Development Managers who are enthusiastic self-starters responsible for organizing and driving myAgro’s fundraising. Reporting to the Senior Director of Development and working with the Development team, the Development Manager will steward a portfolio of foundation and corporate partnerships while also looking for and cultivating funding from new sources. The Development Manager will research new funding opportunities; write and submit letters of interest, concept notes, proposals, and reports; coordinate meetings and presentations with funders and team members; maintain alignment with myAgro’s finance and programs departments; and serve as a contact for funding relationships.

The Development Team ensures myAgro has the resources to implement its new three-year plan, and specifically, the achievement of our three pillars to 

  • Develop new and scalable digital tools that boost cost efficiency while providing an independent, on-demand customer experience
  • Support farmer resilience through income diversification, expanding climate-smart offerings such as agroforestry and poultry.
  • Invest in the organizational growth and capacity building necessary to facilitate this digital-forward transition.

You Will:

  • Develop and implement annual and long-term fundraising strategies in collaboration with the Senior Director of Development and Managing Director, US.
  • Write letters of inquiry,  grant proposals, concept notes and reports to corporate, foundation, and individual funders.
  • Research potential funders and manage outreach and solicitation efforts to qualified leads.
  • Work with the Senior Director of Development and other development team members to maintain relationships with current donors and grant makers.
  • Develop donor stewardship and communications materials, including reports and appeals.
  • Contribute to maintaining an up-to-date database of current donor/grant details and potential new funding opportunities in Raiser’s Edge
  • Present compelling proposals and presentations to internal and external audiences.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure alignment on project requirements, key dates, deliverables, budgets, targets, and outcomes.
  • Occasionally travel for donor meetings or field visits.

 

You Have:

  • 3+ years working in fundraising or in a nonprofit setting;
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to proofread and draft high-quality documents;
  • Organized, reliable, and able to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines;
  • Experience building and managing a portfolio of funders;
  • Donor database management skills (preferably Raiser's Edge);
  • Experience working collaboratively with a team;
  • Experience in West Africa or working with international donors is a plus.
