The Embedded Desktop Support Officer is responsible for delivering high-quality ICT support while acting as the primary onsite technical contact for the client. This role supports day-to-day end-user technology needs, audio-visual (AV) systems, meeting room technologies, camera infrastructure, and online streaming of events and meetings.
The role ensures a positive, customer-focused support experience and maintains a strong on-site presence to assist staff, resolve technical issues, and uphold ICT service standards.
Requirements
What You'll Do:
- Provide timely and effective onsite ICT support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, escalating to higher-level support when required.
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and applications.
- Support user access management (password resets, MFA assistance, account setup).
- Maintain and update asset records, loan devices, and deployment documentation.
- Provide hands-on support for meeting rooms, conferencing systems, and interactive displays.
- Set up and troubleshoot AV equipment for meetings, workshops, and events. (Cisco)
- Assist users with MS Teams, Zoom, or other meeting platforms.
- Coordinate with vendors or specialist teams for complex AV faults or installations.
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot camera equipment used for meetings, events, and presentations.
- Support live-streamed meetings including setup, configuration, testing, and live incident handling.
- Ensure recording, quality checks, and safe storage of media where required.
- Provide an exceptional, customer-focused experience for all users and visitors.
- Maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders and communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
- Keep users informed of ticket progress, outages, and system changes.
- Maintain accurate documentation, ticket notes, and resolution steps in the service desk system.
- Follow ICT processes including change management, knowledge articles, and asset tracking.
- Proactively identify recurring issues and recommend improvements.
- Support onboarding/offboarding activities, including hardware preparation and account setup.
What You'll Bring:
- Experience in a Level 1–2 ICT support role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, Teams, and common desktop applications.
- Understanding of basic networking: TCP/IP, Wi-Fi troubleshooting, VPN, DHCP/DNS concepts.
- Experience supporting AV systems (e.g., Logitech, Crestron, Poly, Teams Rooms).
- Experience with camera/infrastructure systems and live-streaming platforms is highly desirable.
