Desktop Engineer (Electron & MacOS)

TLDR

As a key member of the early-stage development team, you'll design and implement user experiences for high-stake exams using technologies like Electron and C++.

YOUR CHALLENGES

As one of the key members of our early-stage development team, you design, implement and operate whatever happens when a user clicks that button. Providing an automagical experience in high-stake exam situations to thousands of teachers and students every day is the most challenging and rewarding part of this role. You will work on diverse challenges ranging from building student-friendly UX to low-level anti-cheat mechanisms using C++. Your responsibility is to make the product work end-to-end

Our desktop stack: Electron (MacOS & Win), Typescript/Vue.js, C/C++/Objective-C for native modules, Golang for Windows background service, Playwright for e2e tests.

 

WHO ARE YOU?

  • You prefer building products over just writing code. You rather work on a feature (vertical) than specialize in the backend development.
  • You have at least 2 years of desktop development experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with C/C++.
  • 2+ years of experience with JS (React/Angular/Vue.js, Node.js).
  • Product thinking, a clear understanding of the business values.
  • Ability to excel in a constantly changing and rapidly growing workplace.
  • You possess good written and oral English communication skills.
  • You live in or near CEST (Europe/Amsterdam) zone.

Will be a plus:

  • You are familiar with Electron.js framework and Chromium.
  • Experience with Objective-C.
