Our partner is a design studio based in Cologne, Germany, passionate about building digital products and services that users love.    Even though they are a small team, their clients are big brands, global companies and industry leaders. their work is put into interfaces that are used by millions every single day to get their jobs done. They love what we do and are excited about instilling positive change to the product design industry.   We work on complex challenges - which is why we need you. They need someone to join their interdisciplinary design team. Their design solutions turn complex problems into effective and efficient interactions that shape how people progress with digital products. To do this, their designers think strategically, conceptually and visually, as well as acting holistically in the interest of usability What you'll do
  • Focus 100 percent on developing great digital products that help users progress and businesses succeed.
  • Develop and execute digital design solutions for mid to large-scale projects, encompassing UX, UI, interaction, and visual design.
  • Create, evolve and refine design systems for scaling with the highest quality and efficiency from design to code and across multiple products.  
  • Collaborate closely with client product teams, understanding their objectives and aligning design strategies accordingly.
  • Ensure high-quality graphics standards and brand consistency throughout the design process and down to the details.
  • Manage time and resources effectively in an environment without dedicated project managers to stay ahead of the curve.
  • Consult clients on design issues and help them make decisions that lead to product success
  • What you'll bring
  • Willingness to work in-person at our Cologne office.
  • A desire to actively participate in all aspects of digital product design.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • An excellent understanding of the entire design process.
  • Analytical thinking and solution-oriented approach and the ability to focus on the essentials.
  • At least 5 years of experience in digital product design and solid knowledge of UI design, prototyping and design systems
  • Passion for good design, determination, and a never-ending pursuit of new skills and personal development.

    This is how the interview process for this vacancy work:

    1. 45' video call with our team

    2. Portfolio application: They look for strong product design portfolios, including real impact, design systems and experience with complex products. 

    3. Conversation with founders or design leads: typically focused on product thinking, rather than a rigid UX process.

    4. Deep dive into projects: Candidates walk through their portfolio, explain decision-making, product vs. business trade-offs and collaboration with engineering or stakeholders.

    4. Cultural fit: You place strong emphasis on curiosity, autonomy, client interaction and critical thinking (“think, then act”).
