About the Role
This role is a true Design Engineer position focused on the end-to-end design of audiovisual systems. You will work closely with sales teams and clients to design AV solutions and collaborate with installation teams through commissioning and training. The position requires strong technical expertise, professionalism, and excellent communication skills.
Occasional travel to regional installation sites in North and South Carolina may be required.
Key Responsibilities
Design complete audiovisual systems based on client requirements
Develop system schematics and equipment layouts using AutoCAD (2D and 3D)
Collaborate with sales staff to support solution development and proposals
Work with installation teams to support commissioning and system handoff
Provide technical guidance and support throughout project lifecycles
Required Qualifications
Strong working knowledge of AV products from manufacturers such as Crestron, Extron, Kramer, BiAmp, Shure, Poly, and Vaddio
Proficiency with AutoCAD for AV system drawings and mechanical layouts
Experience designing Crestron control systems, including control logic and touch panel layouts
Experience configuring modern DSP systems
Strong understanding of sound system acoustics, including microphone and speaker selection and placement
Experience with video and audio conferencing systems
Working knowledge of IP networking as it relates to AV-over-IP and conferencing solutions
Excellent communication, organizational, and client-facing skills
Preferred Qualifications
AVIXA CTS or CTS-D certification
Crestron DMC-D or DMC-D-4K experience
Additional Information
Regional travel within North and South Carolina is required
