Design Engineer - Gram (MCP Cloud Platform)

AI overview

Join a passionate team to develop an innovative platform that seamlessly connects enterprise data to AI at scale, focusing on intuitive developer experiences and high-impact challenges.

Speakeasy is the best in class developer platform to build and deploy agent tools as hosted MCPs. Our goal is to enable AI builders wherever they are: join us to work early stages on our latest product, Gram.

About Speakeasy
We started our journey by building tool chains for shipping and maintaining crafted SDKs for APIs but have since expanded our mandate to highly requested agentic tools and MCPs by launching our second product, Gram. We’re rapidly hiring as a result of enterprise customers like LaunchDarkly, Fivetran, Verizon, and fast moving startups who are building and launching MCP tools and apps on Gram.

About Gram
Gram is how enterprises and fast moving startups connect their data to AI securely and at scale. The platform makes it easy to deploy code and connect APIs to create agentic tools, curate them into toolsets, and deploy them as hosted MCPs. These curated purpose-built MCP servers are used to power our customers’ agents, coding agents and chat clients.

We build in the open (take a look at our Github) with customers ranging from 2 person startups to Fortune 500 companies.

About the Role
We’ve never hired for a role like this. This is a unique, high-impact opportunity to join a passionate team about making the developer experience an intuitive craft to enable solving abstract, hard problems.

You’ll be working on an early product with a fast moving team that’s done this before and collaborating with founders (and customers) directly on a daily basis. You might have experience architecting and scaling modern web infrastructure, crafting intuitive developer UIs , web services in Golang or building on open protocols like MCP … but most importantly really we’re looking for strong generalists and product engineers who are driven about crafting developer experiences.

You’re a good fit if...

  • You want to join a talent-dense team made up of ex-founders and domain experts across various developer tools, languages, and infrastructure (in fact over a quarter of the team).

  • Ownership excites you in the full lifecycle of development: building, shipping, running support and measuring impact.

  • You have a record of full agency in improving customer experiences and growing a company.

  • You have an exceptional ability to learn, pickup new frameworks, and can work across the stack from backend to frontend.
