We’re looking for an experienced Demand Planner to join our team in Poeldijk, Netherlands on a permanent basis. 

The Demand Planner will play a pivotal role in optimising the balance between supply and demand, ensuring an efficient and cost-effective supply chain. Reporting to the Head of Procurement/Head of Commercial, you will be responsible for developing and refining demand forecasts based on historical data and market trends, as well as proactively adjusting these as required. This position requires close collaboration with procurement, sales, logistics, and production to maximise product availability, minimise waste, and enhance overall supply chain processes. 

 

Responsibilities include: 

 

  • Develop and optimise demand forecasts based on historical sales data, market trends, and customer orders. 
  • Identify deviations and proactively adjust forecasts when necessary. 
  • Monitor the availability of fresh produce and coordinate with suppliers and growers. 
  • Align inventory replenishment and distribution to prevent shortages or surpluses. 
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (procurement, logistics, sales) to ensure an efficient supply chain. 
  • Analyse and improve supply chain processes to reduce costs and waste. 
  • Prepare reports on inventory levels, delivery reliability, and sales forecasts. 
  • Analyse market developments and weather conditions that impact availability and pricing. 
  • Act as the link between procurement, sales, and logistics to ensure optimal customer satisfaction. 
  • Advise internal teams on trends and forecasts within the fresh produce market. 

Requirements

Experience we look for: 

Essential 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or Agribusiness. 
  • Significant experience in a similar role within the fresh produce, FMCG or food industry. 
  • Must have a strong business proficiency in Dutch and English. 
  • Experience with forecasting tools and ERP systems (e.g., Green Commerce, Profix, 365). 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. 
  • Affinity with the fresh produce sector and knowledge of product seasonality.
