To support this mission, Syngenta’s Marketing team is seeking a Demand Planner LATAM - MX-AGH in Zapopan, Jalisco, México. 

Accountabilities 

Forecast and Financial Plan:

  • Lead the monthly MX-AGH financial review process.
  • Coordinate and ensure adherence to global sales forecasting and financial planning timelines and ownership.
  • Ensure timely readiness of the MX-AGH financial and demand plan (IBP into SAP) per the global planning calendar.
  • Coordinate the BU monthly financial review.
  • Perform forecast vs. sales variance analysis and manage rollover of under- or over-consumed demand.
  • Provide reporting and analytics support to the Territory Product Development Specialist team for bi-annual pre-SPP demand reviews, monthly MBR/S&OP cycles, and ad-hoc requests.
  • Facilitate communication between Commercial and P&S to resolve demand–supply imbalances, review constraints, and develop a territory-constrained sales plan.
  • Manage and coordinate data integrity and analytics in IBP and SAP.
  • Monitor levels, trends, seasonality, accuracy, bias, and reliability of the bottom-up demand plan.
  • Support the bi-annual regional pre-SPP demand review process.
  • Coordinate and manage territory bi-annual forecasting cycles in line with business planning timelines and local crop/campaign calendars.
  • Support Territory Product Development Specialists in preparing for pre-SPP demand review meetings and facilitate approval of 3-year demand plans by the Territory Veg BU Head, aligned with bi-annual crop release.

Inventory and Replenishment Management:

  • Assist in developing local replenishment strategies and objectives, including customer service targets and inventory goals.
  • Make recommendations for global demand safety stock.

Forecasting KPIs

  • Track and measure performance against S&OP KPIs, including action plans for improvement.

Range Management

  • Facilitate and support the incorporation of range management decisions (Variety Phase-In & Phase-Out, tail management) into the demand plan and assess implications for associated SKUs; track and monitor through the Commercial Unit S&OP process as required.
  • Support the Commercial Unit operational SKU management process in line with regional portfolio and supply guidance.
  • Lead the Commercial Unit SKU creation and retirement process, aligned with hurdles and regional portfolio decisions.

5-Year Planning

  • Support the yearly Territory 5-year planning process.

S&OP Process

  • Coordinate the monthly P&S MBR input and the quarterly S&OP review.

Link with P&S

  • Coordinate the SBP&E connection between regional P&S and Territory/Commercial Unit teams.
  • Manage season kick-off and season debrief meetings with Territory Commercial and regional P&S.

Process Set-Up and Implementation

  • Serve as technical expert in forecasting tools, processes, and system integration with P&S, Finance, etc.
  • Manage the interface with Commercial Unit and Regional Supply Operations, financial forecasting, budgeting, and S&OP, ensuring alignment with the Regional Business Planning Manager and Regional Portfolio team.
  • Regularly refresh knowledge and train Territory Product Development Specialists, Commercial Unit Heads, and Sales Area Managers on processes, systems, KPIs, and business rules.
  • Facilitate Territory/Commercial Unit improvement initiatives.

Required  

  • Business, Science or Economics university degree or equivalent.
  • Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in demand planning, supply planning or finance roles.
  • Advanced analytical, statistical and reporting skills.
  • Proficient SAP knowledge and IBP.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.

Desired 

  • Experience in Vegetable Seeds.
  • APICS certification.
