Deco Pattern Service Operator 

Wilsonart, Temple, Texas has an immediate opening for a Deco Pattern Services Operator.  This individual will transfers the sheeted material to and from the deco racks and pulls needed material based on production requirements. Performs inventory adjustments to ensure inventory accuracy. Verifies the accuracy of the run and coordinates with teammates to address any issues. Cut dry decorative patterns into specific lengths with an emphasis on quality. Performs other tasks as needed. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
·       Performs accurate inventory transactions and inventory including counts, scraps, adjustments, etc. for inventory accuracy.  Determines if BOM must be updated with alternate routes as needed.
·       Determines if material must be upsized and cut down to a smaller size. Cuts down patterns or overlay if needed to complete run.
·       Reviews pattern availability and coordinate with the Team Lead to get the items sheeted or changed out.
·       Operates equipment to exchange pallets, reorganize deco inventory, move empty boards, transport runs to appropriate teams without incurring any press lost time, etc.
·       Retrieves all treated/sheeted material from the melamine collating/sheeting and melamine treating departments to be placed into inventory.
·       Inspects material for pattern defects and proper dimension and verify count and finish designations.
·       Pulls all material for assembly and pressing.
·       Participates in the Lean process and Safety process.
·       Perform house-keeping in Assembly and pattern racks.
·       Work in other areas of assembly as required for weekend work schedule.
·       Notify team members and Team Lead of ETA for next runs needed for the press.
·       Coordinate any press calls, left offs, damaged pattern replacements or change outs needed for the press.
·       Inspects globe lift/pattern racks or any other required equipment and reports any maintenance issues.
·       Prioritize material needed to be cut daily and set up material to be run through cutting machine
·       Quality Check all material prior to cutting for defective paper and notify management if any issues are found
·       Cut material to Product Quality Department specified quality standards.
·       Follow all ISO procedures as written
·       Maintain proper usage of bar code system as required or ORACLE system
·       Make sure all computer work and paper work has been accurately completed
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Must be trained to operate, Globe lift, super cutter, & cut down table.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions. 
  • Ability to work independently in the absence of the Team Lead and Senior Schedule Changer.  
  • Ability to read and understand production schedule.
  • Knowledge of standard product quality and designs inventoried.     
  • Knowledge of safety standards applicable to department and other pertinent rules / regulations governing work standards to include safe operation of equipment.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.  
  • Working knowledge of computers.   
  • Working knowledge of Oracle and basic inventory transactions that can impact decorative paper inventory.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 EDUCATION:

High School Graduate or GED

EXPERIENCE:

1+ years

  • 1 year of experience in a manufacturing setting required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking/pushing/climbing and lifting material or equipment of heavy weight (>50 lbs) Examples: grounds staff and EMS1

 

ENVIRONMENT:

Located in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness. Examples: engineering, waste mgt, laundry workers and yards/grounds staff.
