Role Overview

New Era Technology is looking for a skilled DC ACI / Nexus L2 Network Engineer to support, operate, and troubleshoot enterprise data center network environments. The role focuses on Cisco ACI and Nexus-based infrastructures, ensuring stability, performance, and adherence to operational best practices in a remote delivery model.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced in L2 operations, incident management, and network support within large-scale data center environments.


Key Responsibilities

Data Center Network Operations

  • Provide L2 support for Data Center network infrastructure

  • Monitor, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco ACI and Nexus environments

  • Handle incident, problem, and change management activities

  • Perform configuration changes, validation, and documentation as per SOPs

Troubleshooting & Support

  • Analyze and resolve network connectivity, latency, and performance issues

  • Support VLANs, VRFs, routing, switching, and access policies

  • Work closely with L3 teams, vendors, and cross-functional IT teams for issue resolution

Monitoring & Compliance

  • Proactively monitor network health and capacity

  • Ensure adherence to network security, compliance, and operational standards

  • Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and operational runbooks

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Participate in shift-based or on-call support as required

  • Provide clear status updates, RCA documentation, and operational reports

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the network operations team


Required Skills & Experience

  • 3–6 years of experience in Data Center Network Operations

  • Strong hands-on experience with:

    • Cisco ACI

    • Cisco Nexus (NX-OS)

  • Solid understanding of:

    • Switching & Routing fundamentals

    • VLANs, VRFs, STP, OSPF, BGP (basic to intermediate)

  • Experience working in enterprise or service-provider environments

  • Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management)


Good to Have

  • Exposure to L3 support activities

  • Experience with network monitoring tools

  • Knowledge of data center security concepts

  • Cisco certifications (CCNA / CCNP – Data Center preferred)
