The DBA Administrator is a high‑profile technical operations role within the Managed Services and Cloud Operations organization of a major software company.

As part of the Cloud Ops Team, you will be responsible for the availability, performance, security, and scalability of mission‑critical database systems hosted in third‑party data centers and cloud environments. You will work closely with cloud operations, development teams, and customers, supporting production systems in a 24/7 operational model with a strong focus on reliability and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support production database systems within managed service and cloud environments
  • Perform day‑to‑day DBA operations, including backups, recovery, maintenance plans, user management, and capacity monitoring
  • Monitor and tune database performance using optimization techniques and tools (e.g. AWR, queries, workload analysis)
  • Enforce database security and access controls across all environments
  • Collaborate with development and application support teams on design, optimization, and issue resolution
  • Contribute to infrastructure capacity planning, configuration management, and database recommendations
  • Support high‑availability, clustering, load‑balancing, and shared‑storage configurations
  • Manage system resources (CPU, memory, I/O) to ensure performance and stability
  • Follow incident, problem, change, and service management processes
  • Produce utilization, headroom, and performance reports
  • Work with Project Managers to identify risks, issues, and mitigation plans
  • Evaluate software, licensing, and new platform solutions
  • Your skills, experience, and qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience administering SQL Server in production environments
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server High Availability (HA)
  • Certified SQL Server DBA (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience with Oracle environments, including single‑node clusters with ASM
  • Hands‑on experience with AWS / EC2 or cloud‑hosted database platforms
  • Strong Linux / Unix operational skills
  • Experience with Bash / Ksh scripting for automation and troubleshooting
  • Working knowledge of PL/SQL and/or T‑SQL for database task automation
  • Comfortable working in 24/7 operational teams with escalation and on‑call responsibilities
  • Strong communication skills and customer‑focused mindset
  • Reliable, professional, and motivated to grow within cloud and managed services operations
  • Fluency in English (minimum B2)
