POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Database Administrator to join our team and play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our database systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Data Warehouse and ETL with a focus on Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Fabric, with a proven ability to deliver exceptional database solutions in a highly regulated environment.

Preferred locations: Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, Texas

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, implement, and maintain database systems in Azure including PostgreSQL, Data Warehouse, and SQL Server platforms.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Develop and optimize database queries, stored procedures, and indexes to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Implement and enforce data security and compliance standards, including data encryption, access controls, and backup strategies.
  • Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective measures.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for database-related issues.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure database compatibility and integration with applications.
  • Stay updated with the latest Azure technologies and best practices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field, or equivalent and demonstratable experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator.
  • Strong proficiency in Azure, PostgreSQL, Data Warehouse, and SQL Server.
  • In-depth knowledge of database design, normalization, and optimization techniques.
  • Experience with data warehousing and business intelligence concepts.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong understanding of data security and compliance regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certifications in Azure, PostgreSQL, Data Warehouse, or SQL Server.
  • Experience with cloud-based database platforms.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
  • Experience with data migration and integration tools.

The pay range for this role is between $120,000- $145,000 (base). Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, location, and other job-related reasons. Stream Data Centers offers annual bonus, benefits, flexible time off (vacation), 401k and a variety of other perks and benefits.
