We are seeking a Database Administrator to support the reliability, performance, and security of enterprise data platforms powering mission-critical healthcare and readiness systems. In this role, you’ll sustain and modernize database environments within a highly regulated federal ecosystem, working closely with data engineers, platform teams, and security stakeholders to ensure scalable, compliant, and highly available data solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Administer and maintain enterprise relational databases including Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL within secure production environments.
  • Monitor database health, troubleshoot performance issues, and perform query tuning and optimization to maintain system stability.
  • Support backup, recovery, and high-availability strategies to ensure data availability across integrated clinical and operational systems.
  • Implement patching, vulnerability remediation, and STIG compliance activities aligned with RMF and IAVM workflows.
  • Manage database access, permissions, and RBAC controls to support secure data operations.
  • Collaborate with ETL developers, platform administrators, and data engineers to support data pipelines, integrations, and downstream analytics platforms.
  • Support Agile delivery and DevSecOps (DSO) practices to maintain hardened and accreditable environments.

What you’ll bring:

  • Hands-on experience administering enterprise databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL in production environments.
  • Strong understanding of database performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational reliability.
  • Experience supporting backup/recovery strategies and secure database operations.
  • Familiarity with federal cybersecurity practices such as STIGs, RMF, vulnerability remediation, or compliance-driven operations.
  • Comfort collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams in Agile delivery environments.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to operational detail.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Nice to haves:

  • Exposure to ETL/ELT tooling such as Talend, AWS Glue, or comparable data integration platforms.

At Oddball, it’s important each employee is compensated competitively and fairly. In alignment with state legal requirements. A range for the included position is listed below. Be advised, actual offer details are determined by job category, job location, and candidate skill level.

United States Wage Range: $90,000 – $130,000
