Role- Database Administrator
Job Description
· 5-8 Years, excellent knowledge on technology areas, ITIL process, Operational Processes, Training & documentation.
· Installation of MSSQL Server, Analysis & Reporting Services on Window standalone & Cluster environment.
· Database Lifecycle Management - Database creation, setup & decommissioning.
· Database event/alert monitoring, space management, user management
· Database upgrades, migrations & refreshes.
· Database backup, restore & recovery using MSSQL native methods, Quest Lite speed &Commvault.
· Diagnose and resolve performance, connectivity, security and database corruption issues in a critical production environment.
· Capable to perform MSSQL database setup, database upgrades, space management, backup & recovery
· Setup and maintain High-Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions (Log shipping, Mirroring, Replication) in MSSQL using MSSQL Client tools.
· Setup and manage native and Quest Lite speed managed database recovery model
· Familiar in Windows system administration relevant to MSSQL database management. (Window 2003, 2008 Enterprise Edition)
· Experience in supporting multiple MSSQL Server installations on a single box & in multi node cluster environment.
· Experience in troubleshooting MSSQL Log Shipping, Mirroring & Replication problems.
· Propose and/or participate in ongoing process improvement programs, automation projects.
· Strong PowerShell & Perl skills in Windows environment, debugging infrastructure support scripts in case of issues or / for better management.
· MSSQL resources are required to work on Sybase and vice-versa.
· Knowledge in Sybase database administration, Linux, BMC SQL BackTrack, BMC Patrol, Commvault are a plus.
· Experience in ITIL process & ticketing systems is added advantage
