In 2020, Uken released Ava’s Manor, a solitaire game where users renovate and decorate the manor while discovering mysterious clues and dabbling in a romantic love story. Uken’s foray into narrative games is an exciting opportunity for the company.

Uken is looking for a Data Scientist to join our analytics team. As a data scientist, you will improve personalization and optimization of our games and cater to our users’ experiences. You will analyze and make sense of huge data sets by building predictive models, developing useful data structures, and providing actionable insights about our players’ experiences. Your success will help us develop features and customizations that delight our customers, and make our games exciting and fun to play.

As a Ukenite, you'll be working on meaningful things like: 

• Designing and iterating machine learning solutions, to provide better game customization for our users and to optimize for growth in targeted outcomes
• Collaborating closely with data engineers, architects, and product managers to deploy models that deliver actionable insights
• Clearly communicating findings and insights to ensure we make quality business decisions
• Ensuring statistical rigour is applied to how we operate — especially to AB Test analyses

Your background should include: 

• 3+ years experience in Python and SQL, including using libraries like Pandas, Scikit-learn, MatPlotLib
• 1+ years experience translating business problems into data science problems
• Advanced proficiency in statistical methods, such as test design, hypothesis testing, Bayesian methodology
• Ability to effectively communicate and interpret highly technical topics to technical and non-technical partners alike

It is a big plus if you have:

• Advanced Degree(s) in statistics, computer science, math, data science or a related field
• Experience using Cloud technologies to develop and deploy data science solutions
• Experience leveraging business intelligence tools to tell a story
• Previous experience at a startup or mobile game/app company
