Data Scientist

TLDR

Design cutting edge machine learning methods to help small businesses optimize their financial management and improve user experience through advanced data-driven products.

As a Data Scientist at Melio you will be working with colleagues from various disciplines - Research Engineers, Analysts, and other Data Scientists - on statistical methods and machine learning techniques and Gen-AI (both supervised and unsupervised) in order to develop classification and anomaly detection algorithms.

Qualifications: 

  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Scientist
  • Experience applying Large Language Models (LLMs) and agent-based frameworks to solve real-world data problems, including prompt engineering, model evaluation, and building agent workflows that interact with data sources and APIs.
  • Experience with ML 
  • Team player, effective interpersonal skills. Manage relationships with key partners across different functions. 
  • Hands-on approach and an ability to take projects from idea to production
  • Background with big companies working on large scales 

 

Bonus points: 

  • Experience in big data/ entity resolution - advantage 
  • M.Sc/PhD in one of the following: Computer Sciences, Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Statistics or a related field - advantage 
  • Spark- Big advantage

Designing the next generation of cutting edge methods that will:

  •  Help small businesses manage their finance in a better way using Melio
  •  Help Melio grow the customer base by the built-in product network effect 
  • Drive impact by leveraging LLMs and agentic workflows to enhance user experience, enabling more intuitive, accurate, and efficient interactions with data-driven products.

You will play a key role in the ability of Melio to keep scaling!

 

About the Hiring Department:

The Data department at Melio collaborates with colleagues from various disciplines—Research Engineers, Analysts, and other Data Scientists—on statistical methods and machine learning techniques (both supervised and unsupervised) in order to develop classification and anomaly detection algorithms.
