Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for a Data Lead with strong insurance and Delegate Authority experience to capture and interpret business definitions, rules, and data lineage while supporting data warehouse initiatives and regulatory reporting needs. This role requires ownership of source-to-target mapping, strong understanding of business and technical metadata, and the ability to translate complex insurance data requirements into clear user stories, backlog increments, and acceptance criteria.

What you will do:

  • Capture and interpret business definitions, rules, and data lineage across insurance data domains.
  • Own source-to-target mapping activities including business and technical metadata documentation.
  • Translate business requirements into clear user stories, product backlog increments, and acceptance criteria.
  • Support data warehouse projects by defining data relationships and ensuring accurate data flows.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to align data requirements with regulatory and reporting needs.
  • Apply knowledge of Delegate Authority processes to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
  • Use SQL to query and validate data as part of analysis and quality checks.
  • Use Excel and presentation tools to analyse data and communicate findings clearly.
  • Contribute to financial reporting and regulatory compliance initiatives specific to insurance.
  • Provide input into relational and dimensional data modelling and define relationships between entities.
  • Support governance and documentation of data rules and standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3–4 years of Delegate Authority experience within the insurance sector.
  • Strong insurance background with familiarity in financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven experience capturing business definitions, rules, lineage, and owning source-to-target mapping.
  • Experience working on data warehouse projects.
  • Ability to write clear user stories, product backlog increments, and acceptance criteria.
  • Basic SQL querying skills.
  • Strong Excel and presentation skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Azure and Databricks is advantageous.
  • Understanding of Lloyd’s market operations and syndicate structures is desirable.
  • Experience in relational and dimensional modelling including normalisation and defining relationships between entities.
