Data Lead Business Information

AI overview

Lead the evolution of data sourcing and integration for the UK market, optimizing data quality and enabling Sales through reliable, governed data.

We are seeking a hands-on UK Data Specialist to own and evolve data sourcing, quality, and integration for the UK market. This role is responsible for building and running the UK DataHub/Digital Offer, improving data quality at source, optimising data costs, and enabling the business—especially Sales—through reliable, well-governed data. You will collaborate closely with regional/global data teams, IT, procurement, and UK data providers to ensure robust, compliant, and value-driven data capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Quality, Governance & Source Management

  • Improve the quality of UK data sources through profiling, monitoring, cleansing, and remediation.
  • Implement and uphold Group data governance frameworks to ensure compliant, secure, and high-quality data management in the UK.
  • Define, maintain, and operationalise data matching rules, keying/linking strategies, and entity resolution to support multi‑sourcing.
  • Lead ongoing data discussions with UK data providers and support contractual conversations (licensing, SLAs, usage rights).
  • Deeply understand UK public and commercial sources (e.g., Companies House, HM Courts, CCJs) and integrate them effectively into the data ecosystem.

Business Impact & Enablement

  • Create and operate the UK DataHub/Digital Offer as the technical owner, ensuring it reliably supports analytics, BI, and downstream processes.
  • Optimise the total cost of data (licensing, storage, compute, usage) and track ROI of data investments.
  • Support Sales with high-quality datasets, insights, and technical pre‑sales (e.g., data coverage checks, feasibility assessments, and demos).
  • Translate business requirements into technical designs for data acquisition, integration, and access, ensuring measurable business outcomes.

Stakeholder Management & Vendor Relations

  • Collaborate with Procurement, Legal, and Compliance on data provider evaluation, contracts, and usage policies.
  • Maintain strong relationships with UK data providers; proactively manage changes (schemas, delivery methods, quality) and coordinate impact assessments.
  • Communicate clearly with business stakeholders, setting expectations and prioritising based on value, risk, and effort.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of hands‑on experience in data management, data engineering, or analytics with a strong delivery track record.
  • Proven expertise in data profiling, data quality assessment and cleansing
  • Solid understanding of data governance, metadata, data lineage, and regulatory considerations for UK data.
  • Experience integrating UK data sources such as Companies House, HM Courts/Tribunals datasets, and CCJs.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and measure outcomes (quality, timeliness, cost).
  • Strong incident management skills for BI/data issues, with clear root cause analysis and preventative controls.
  • Highly independent person who can work with little guidance, proactively seeking solutions and with a high sense of prioritization.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and can-do attitude.
