Data Engineer

Walaris designs and develops AI-driven, software-defined, and hardware-enabled autonomous systems for defense and security applications. For our office in Zagreb, we are looking for a Data Engineer (m/ž/d) starting as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

• Manage and organize large datasets used for training computer vision AI models
• Collaborate closely with AI and Computer Vision engineers, providing data-related support
• Create and maintain image and video databases
• Build and maintain end-to-end data processing pipelines, from raw data ingestion through annotation and post-processing
• Ensure data quality and implement data tracking and governance practices
• Apply DataOps, DevOps, and MLOps principles to automate workflows, improve reliability, and enable continuous delivery of data assets

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, or a related field
• Experience with databases and database management
• Familiarity with tools such as MinIO, Ceph, Docker, Kubernetes, CVAT, and Roboflow
• Experience with programming languages such as Python
• Proficient in Bash scripting
• Experience working in Linux (particularly Ubuntu) is desired
• Familiarity with computer vision + image and video processing software is preferred
• Strong English skills
