At Vay, data powers everything we do, from remote driving to real-time decision-making. As a Data Engineer, you’ll build and optimize pipelines, infrastructure, and data models that scale our business and enhance operational efficiency.

You’ll work with cutting-edge tools like AWS Lambda, Apache Kafka, Airbyte, Snowflake, and dbt, shaping a high-performance data ecosystem. Collaborating with Data Analysts, Backend Engineers, and Cloud Infrastructure teams, you’ll ensure seamless data flows and reliability.

What you'll be driving:

• ETL Pipeline & API Development – Build and maintain high-performance ETL pipelines and APIs using tools like AWS Lambda, AWS Step Functions, Apache Kafka, and Airbyte, ensuring seamless data ingestion and processing.
• Data Warehousing & Modeling – Design and manage scalable data models in Snowflake, using dbt to align with analytics and business needs.
• Data Contracts & Schema Evolution – Define and implement structured data contracts with formats like Protobuf, Apache Avro, and JSON, ensuring consistency and flexibility across our data ecosystem.
• Cloud Infrastructure & Automation – Manage cloud infrastructure with Terraform and GitHub Actions, automating deployments and streamlining data workflows.
• Monitoring & Data Integrity – Ensure data quality, performance, and reliability using monitoring tools like Grafana, AWS CloudWatch, AWS Alerts, and Apache Superset. Stay ahead of issues with proactive alerting and troubleshooting.
• Continuous Improvement – Work with a cross-functional team to enhance reliability, scalability, and performance of our data platform, driving innovation and efficiency.

What are we looking for: 

• SQL Proficiency – Strong experience writing complex queries, data transformations, and performance optimization.
• Golang & Python Expertise – Comfortable programming in Golang and Python, leveraging AI tools to enhance your development workflows.
• Problem-Solving Mindset – You’re proactive, self-driven, and thrive on solving technical challenges in scalable data engineering.
• Collaboration & Communication – You enjoy working cross-functionally with Data Analysts, Engineers, and Infrastructure Teams, ensuring smooth data operations.
