Role Overview

We’re seeking Financial Statement Data Developers/Engineers to support client engagements. You’ll work with modern data tooling to transform accounting trial balance data into accurate Income Statements and Balance Sheets. This role blends data engineering, financial data transformation, and client-facing consulting.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ingest & transform trial balance data from various sources (CSV, Excel, ERP extract, database).
  • Apply chart of accounts mappings, including entity-specific variations.
  • Utilize purpose-built applications to aggregate outputs into Income Statement & Balance Sheet formats.
  • Build repeatable Alteryx workflows, SQL transformations, and Python scripts for automation.
  • Perform data reconciliation, tie‑outs, variance checks, and data quality controls across entities and periods.

 

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in SQL, Python and Alteryx.
  • Hands-on experience in accounting database development, data engineering and analytics
  • Accounting fundamentals: trial balance, chart of accounts, journal entries, Income Statement & Balance Sheet.
  • Experience converting ledger-level data into financial statements and performing reconciliations.
  • Strong communication skills and client-facing experience; ability to work onsite when required.
  • Experience with cloud environments (Azure).

 

Qualifications & Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Accounting or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience: 8+ years of hands-on experience with database development and scripting

Preferred nice-to-have skills

  • Exposure to M&A/Deal Advisory workflows: multi-entity consolidation, intercompany eliminations, pro forma reporting.
  • Proficiency with Power BI reporting and validation dashboards.
  • ERP familiarity (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Big-4 or top tier Professional Services experience is a plus.
