What You'll Do
As a Data Engineer, you will work directly with a data architect to migrate customer data from source systems to target systems, often Salesforce. This data typically includes CPQ (Configure Price Quote), Billing, Sales, and Service Cloud information. You will utilize tools such as Microsoft SQL Server, DBAmp, PDI, and various others to extract, transform, and load data into Salesforce.
- Participate in customer workshops to discuss data migration processes and gather requirements
- Aid in the creation of data migration plans, including timelines and milestones, to ensure successful project completion based on data requirements
- Create field mappings, maintain user stories and Jira tickets, develop migration scripts, execute migrations to test and production environments, and troubleshoot/resolve issues
- Perform detailed reviews of customer data, verifying data integrity and identifying possible errors
- Participate in multiple engagements simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met
- Seek efficiencies and standardization in data migration processes.
- Support complex migration projects from beginning to end
- Create a positive customer experience by building strong customer relationships
- Participate in regular check-in meetings with customers and project teams to provide status updates and address roadblocks
- Provide clear and detailed documentation of deployment steps, migration processes, test load results, and recommended testing areas
- Collaborate closely with Neocol project teams to ensure overall solutions include data migration considerations
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
- 1-3+ years of data migration experience
- A background and experience in successfully completing ETL efforts
- Experience with SQL or other programming languages
- Must possess the ability to develop SQL Scripts to include an understanding of Inner and Outer Joins, Common Table Expressions (CTEs), aliases, use of functions
- Understand basic database structure
- Ability to resolve logical problems and issues related to ETL processes and Data Analysis
- Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and work well within a team environment
What Would Set You Apart
- Javascript, Python, or other applicable languages for Data analysis and transformation
- Familiarity with extracting and importing data to SQL from CSV, Excel, JSON, or other file formats is helpful
- Experience with DBAmp, PDI, and Dataloading tools
- Familiarity with any other ETL or IPAAS tools
- Use and familiarity of Github, JIRA, and LucidChart are a plus
- Experience in performing multiple data migrations to Salesforce from various other platforms, to include Salesforce to Salesforce, Zuora, Netsuite, Intacct, Hub Spot, ZenDesk, or generic systems
- An understanding of Salesforce object architecture and its operation
- Familiarity with Salesforce Billing, Salesforce CPQ, Salesforce Sales Cloud, Salesforce Service Cloud
