About the Role

We are hiring a Marketing Data Engineer to serve as the technical backbone of paid media measurement, tracking, and reporting. You will own the systems that power real-time performance visibility — from pixel and server-side tracking to data ingestion pipelines and dashboard automation.

This is a highly technical role that blends ad operations, data engineering, and marketing analytics. You will ensure that all paid media performance data is accurate, clean, and actionable, enabling media buyers to optimize rapidly and confidently.

What You’ll Do

Ad Operations and Measurement Implementation (Critical Focus)

  • Serve as the internal expert for paid media measurement with hands-on experience setting up full-funnel tracking for Shopify or high-volume ecommerce clients
  • Implement, manage, and troubleshoot server-side (S2S) tracking and conversion API (cAPI) connections across Meta, Google, TikTok, and Snapchat
  • Configure and maintain integrations with measurement and MMM tools such as TripleWhale, NorthBeam, and Recast
  • Act as the first line of defense against tracking or attribution issues by auditing, diagnosing, and resolving discrepancies quickly with minimal engineering support

Data Ingestion and Pipeline Management

  • Own the process of ingesting, transforming, and normalizing paid media data using Funnel or similar ETL platforms
  • Maintain accuracy and consistency across all datasets feeding into BigQuery
  • Build and enforce taxonomy standards across channels, campaigns, and partners
  • Monitor pipelines proactively and resolve any data integrity issues

Data Visualization and Reporting

  • Design, build, and maintain internal performance dashboards in Looker Studio
  • Work closely with the media buying team to translate raw data into insights and actionable recommendations
  • Support adoption of new internal reporting tools and automation frameworks
  • Build clear, reliable reporting structures that improve speed to insight for the entire growth team

Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in ad operations, marketing analytics engineering, marketing data engineering, or similar technical roles
  • Proven expertise with e-commerce tracking, including S2S integrations, cAPI, pixel setup, GTM, event parameters, and data layer structures
  • Experience using Funnel or a similar ETL tool to ingest and transform marketing data
  • Familiarity with SQL or database concepts, especially in BigQuery environments
  • Proficiency in Looker Studio or similar BI tools for dashboard development
  • Strong problem-solving instincts and the ability to diagnose issues quickly without heavy engineering reliance
  • Comfortable working alongside media buyers and translating complex data into clear decisions
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
