Data Engineer, Global Data Products (f/m/x)

The role

We are a cross-functional team that integrates data engineers and data analysts. Our objective is to establish a dependable groundwork for data-driven decision-making. This role holds significance across the organization, tasked with constructing foundational data assets and metrics.

As a Data Engineer in Global Data Products, you will be collaborating to build robust and highly reliable data products using cutting-edge technologies (Snowflake, Databricks, DBT, Spark, Kafka etc). You will drive continuous improvement to our current data processing workflows; whilst engaging with the data producers and consumers to align business requirements with our roadmap.

What you’ll do

• Build and maintain complex and scalable ETL pipelines
• Work closely with the data producers and software developers
• Collaborate closely with different stakeholders such as Marketing, Product Analytics, etc.
• Drive data quality and governance 
• Work together with our cross-organizational data engineering chapter to adapt the latest tools and techniques to the needs of HelloFresh.

What you’ll bring

• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and able to design, implement and deliver maintainable and high-quality code
• Strong problem-solving acumen 
• Proficiency in SQL and Python stack
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to build effective communication structures in a fast-growing engineering organization

Bonus points:

• You treat data quality issues as engineering problems to solve, not business problems to escalate
• You’ve debugged a Spark pipeline and know the satisfaction of finding the root cause
• Demonstrated experience with data modeling techniques and a solid understanding of the principles of effective data models.
