The Mission

We are seeking an exceptional Data Engineer to join our growing Cloud Data Engineering team. The right candidate is someone who has deep expertise in designing data pipelines and is passionate about working with our customers, partners, and colleagues to drive innovation forward.

Your mission will be to work alongside Caylent’s Architects, Engineering Managers, and Engineers to deliver AWS solutions across our diverse and forward-thinking customer base. You’ll work with the latest technologies and support customers looking to bring cutting-edge ideas to market.

Your Assignment 

  • Collaborate with Architects and Engineering Managers to deliver high-quality technical solutions.

  • Understand client requirements to build solutions defined in project backlogs.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies such as daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and demos.

  • Write production-ready, well-tested, and documented code across cloud environments.

  • Contribute to building infrastructure, data pipelines, or application components depending on project needs.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in development, staging, etc.

  • Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing within your team.

  • Demonstrate Caylent’s values by staying curious, being an exceptional partner, and continuously learning.

Your Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement database engineering tasks and quality standards.
  • Support schema, warehouse, and migration execution.
  • Contribute to testing, documentation, and technical validation.
  • Participate in technical discussions to align on solution approaches.

Required Technical Competencies:

  • Proficient in writing complex queries, using analytical and window functions, and optimizing query performance.
  • Practical experience with at least two major database platforms such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
  • Skilled in developing and optimizing stored procedures, functions, and triggers to improve performance and maintainability.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling techniques and ETL/ELT warehouse workflows.
  • Experience supporting data migration execution across environments.
  • Working knowledge of AWS database stack (RDS/Aurora/EC2).
  • Proficiency in Python or automation scripting.
  • Experience with IaC, CI/CD, and basic security and FinOps.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NoSQL familiarity.
  • Monitoring and performance tooling.
  • Prior consulting/professional services experience.
  • AWS certifications (Foundation/Associate/Specialty).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Experience Requirements 

  • 3+ years delivering database solutions.
  • 1+ years of AWS-based implementations.
  • Upper-Intermediate English (minimum B2).

Base Salary Range: The expected base salary range for this position is $105,000 -$120,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Additional Compensation Components: In addition to the base salary, the compensation package may include bonuses, commissions, equity, and other incentives. The specific components will vary depending on the role and individual and/or company performance.

This role may require up to 25% travel, depending on business needs.
