Data Collection Technician (Seasonal)

This seasonal role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to critical field data collection projects supporting infrastructure assessment and restoration. The position involves traveling to various sites, performing detailed inspections, and documenting conditions using mobile devices. You will work independently and as part of a small team, ensuring accurate data collection and adherence to safety protocols. Accountabilities:

• Conduct detailed field assessments of equipment, lines, and other infrastructure.
• Accurately record data using mobile devices, including photographs, GPS coordinates, and structured reports.
• Lead a small field team and coordinate with team members to ensure consistency and safety.
• Identify necessary repairs and document all findings in clear, client-specific reports.
• Follow established safety procedures and participate in all safety initiatives.
• Support restoration efforts during natural disaster events, including extended hours and travel as required.
• Meet production targets and adhere to project milestones.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in utility distribution or transmission systems (Journeyman Linemen, Engineers, or operations).
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record and ability to pass a drug screen test.
• Proficiency with smartphones, tablets, and mobile data collection software.
• Ability to navigate using maps, GPS, and geospatial coordinates.
• Physical capability to work in varied weather, terrain, and extended hours.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for coordinating with remote teams.
• Willingness to travel overnight and cover initial travel or meal expenses until reimbursed.
