As a Data Cloud Platform Architect at Ivy Partners, you will:
- Utilize your deep expertise in AWS data services like Lambda, Glue, Step Functions, and Redshift, while also engaging with Azure data services.
- Lead in the implementation and enforcement of data governance and security standards across cloud platforms.
- Manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Spearhead optimization projects to ensure minimal disruption and maximum efficiency.
- Apply your strong coding skills in Python and SQL to prototype solutions and establish coding standards.
- Develop robust solution architectures focusing on scalability, performance, security, and cost optimization.
- Design efficient data models and optimize query performance for handling large datasets.
- Oversee ETL processes and manage data integration into systems like Redshift, DuckDB, and PostgreSQL.
- Set up and manage AWS logging and tracing mechanisms using CloudTrail and X-Ray.
- Implement orchestration solutions using Apache Airflow and AWS Step Functions.
- Utilize Athena for interactive query analysis of large datasets stored in Amazon S3.
- Provide technical leadership and act as a subject matter expert in cloud data engineering.
- Regularly update solution and technical documentation and stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Challenge business requirements and propose innovative solutions for efficiency and performance improvement.

Requirements

About You
You are our ideal candidate if you:
- Possess deep expertise in AWS data services, supplemented by exposure to Azure data services.
- Have extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Can effectively define and enforce data governance and security standards.
- Have led large-scale data migration and optimization projects.
- Boast strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with a history of prototyping and setting coding standards.
- Have experience with Iceberg tables and managing large datasets efficiently.
- Are proficient in designing scalable and efficient data solutions on AWS, following best practices for cloud architecture and infrastructure.
- Are experienced with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow and AWS Step Functions.
- Have knowledge of ETL tools and experience working with large volumes of data, preferably with Kafka.
- Are proactive in production monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills, capable of providing technical leadership and mentorship.
- Display strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of analyzing requirements and proposing innovative solutions.
- Have experience in writing solution documents and technical documentation.
- Are familiar with Azure Databricks for data engineering and analytics tasks, which is considered an advantage.
