The Team

Data Center investment has increased due to the huge rise in AI demand and the emerging focus on sustainability.  It is Hitachi’s aim to transform our product-based offerings to OTxIT integrated solutions to become a key player in the Data Center lifecycle ecosystem.

The Data Center Solutions team design digital-enabled models and solutions that leverage I-IoT and AI technologies to support large industrial enterprises in their digital transformation journey.

The Role

The Data Center Solution Infrastructure Director is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing data center infrastructure solutions to meet the customer’s specific needs. This role requires a deep understanding of various data center technologies, including servers, storage, networking, power, cooling, and security systems. This position will play a critical part of our team in developing and transforming to AI-ready facilities and establish partnerships for a future-ready and sustainable solution.

  • Develop data center infrastructure solutions that meet the needs of specific applications and workloads
  • Oversee the operations, maintenance, and optimization of the data center infrastructure
  • Provide a customer centric focus and promote Hitachi services and solutions
  • Plan for future capacity needs, ensuring the data center can support growth and new applications
  • Manage relationships with hardware and software vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring timely delivery
  • Plan and implement strategies to ensure business continuity and disaster recovery in the event of outages
  • Identify and implement cost-saving strategies while maintaining optimal performance and availability
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including IT, business units, executives, and customers
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and security standards

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree (preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in data center engineering, cloud computing, or modular operations
  • 5+ years of customer-facing experience managing projects or technical solutions
  • Proven record of delivering excellent customer service to customers
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to influence, negotiate, and persuade​
  • Proficiency in systems and networks, architectural programming, data center operations, capacity planning, and MS Office and Project

This is a remote position, but our preference is for candidates located in the Western United States.

As required by the equal pay and transparency acts, the expected compensation range for this position is $115K to $165K base, plus bonus.  The expected pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area.
