Data Center Operations Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Operations Engineer to join our team in supporting government cloud infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, implementing and maintaining virtualized infrastructure for cloud automation. Qualified candidates will also possess meaningful automation expertise.  

As a Data Center Operations Engineer, you will: 

  • Design, implement, and maintain virtualized infrastructure using VMware ESXi, vCenter, and Morpheus Data for cloud automation. 
  • Monitor and analyze system performance metrics, integrating alerts into EOC dashboards. 
  • Automate provisioning, patching, and configuration management using Ansible and Red Hat CloudForms. 
  • Optimize storage and backup solutions using IBM GPFS and disaster recovery best practices. 
  • Maintain and enhance security postures through system hardening, vulnerability scanning, and patch management. 
  • Collaborate with Network Operations Center (NOC) and Security Operations Center (SOC) to enhance monitoring and threat mitigation strategies. 
  • Ensure compliance with change management processes and perform root cause analysis for recurring incidents. 
  • Support IT Lab testing, validation, and implementation of new technologies. 

Requirements

  • Advanced VMware vSphere, Morpheus Data, Ansible skills. 
  • Strong automation expertise (Red Hat CloudForms, Ansible). 
  • Storage management with IBM GPFS. 
  • Security enforcement and compliance monitoring. 
  • Infrastructure performance tuning. 
  • Incident response and root cause analysis. 
  • 3+ years of experience in similar roles 
  • US Citizenship Required
