The Role:
Wealthmonitor, a division of ION Analytics, is a provider of intelligence and data to the wealth management and banking community, helping organisations to connect with high-net worth individuals. Wealthmonitor identifies people who benefit from wealth-creating liquidity events, with a focus on M&A activity.
As part of our expansion, we are seeking an entry-level Data Associate with proficiency in one or more of the following languages: Spanish, German, Nordics along with English. The job involves the research of individuals, corporations, and their networks via a combination of manual research methods and automated processes. An ability to read between the lines and attention to detail are essential qualifications for this role, which is key to maintaining and growing the database.
The role requires a systematic and proactive approach to continuous improvement around data and content gathering, data management and analysis. Solid research skills and a problem-solving mindset are key to support the growth of the business. Good communications skills as well as sound organisational skills are also prerequisites.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily monitoring and processing of relevant data and information published by official and internal proprietary sources, via a combination of manual and automated processes
- Screening of media sources to identify data points / information related to companies (both public and private) and high net-worth individuals in the regions and countries assigned
- Contribute to content quality and expansion by ensuring active curation of existing sources and increase data coverage
- Subject matter expertise in analysing financial statements and ownership data
- Open-source intelligence gathering (OSINT)
- Synthesize information gathered from manual and automated processes
- Data capture and entry
- Additional Duties:
- Help with process automation, by supporting the team with building and maintaining data scraping tools and pipelines to monitor, extract, and process data from a variety of sources, including public websites
- Utilize coding skills and subject matter expertise to continuously enhance and optimize data gathering and workflow processes
- Work on data point extraction and bulk data clean-up projects through innovative technical solutions
Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
- Proficiency in one or more of the following languages: Spanish, German, Nordics
- Strong proficiency in English, as it is the primary working language within the company and team
- Knowledge of open-source intelligence gathering (OSINT)
- Fluency with Excel
- Basic understanding of financial statements
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience with web-scraping
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Information Technology (IT)
- Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Python or Java, especially in relation to libraries and tools for web-scraping and data processing
