ROLE SUMMARY

We invite passionate and qualified candidates to apply for a data annotator (video annotation) position in Kigali, Rwanda. As a Data Annotator specializing in video annotation, you will be crucial in conducting high-quality work for Renew Capital’s clients. You will ensure our data annotation is of high quality by accurately labeling and categorizing video data. Your work will directly contribute to the training of AI and machine learning models that drive our clients' cutting-edge solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Video Annotation: Accurately label and annotate video data according to project guidelines, ensuring the highest quality and consistency.
  • Tool Utilization: Utilize CVAT proficiently to perform detailed video annotations, including bounding boxes, polygons, key points, and other relevant techniques.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all annotations strictly adhere to project guidelines and meet rigorous quality standards through comprehensive reviews and validations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and project managers, to understand annotation requirements, align efforts with project goals, and meet deadlines.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of annotation processes, ensuring clarity and standardization across the team.
  • Efficiency and Speed: Manage multiple annotation tasks efficiently, optimizing speed without compromising accuracy.
  • Leadership: (Optional based on candidate experience) Provide guidance and mentorship to junior annotators, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality annotations.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience in video annotation is desired but not required. Experience with CVAT or similar annotation tools is highly desirable. However, this is an entry-level role and we encourage all interested candidates to apply. Training will be provided where necessary.
  • Desired Skills:
    • Proficient in various annotation techniques, including bounding boxes, polygons, and key points.
    • Strong attention to detail with a meticulous approach to ensure accuracy and consistency​.
    • Experience in leading annotation projects and teams (if applicable).
    • Basic knowledge of machine learning concepts is an advantage.
    • Familiarity with project management and CRM tools like Hubspot is a plus​.
    • Proficient in Python scripting to streamline annotation processes is preferred.
  • Education: A background in computer science, data science, or a related field is preferred but not required. Relevant experience is highly valued.
  • Language Skills: High Professional Proficiency in English is required. Knowledge of French, Arabic or Swahili is a plus.
