Data and AI Engineering Lead

YOUR ROLE:

The Data and AI Engineering Lead is both a hands-on and a team lead role to design, build and execute machine learning techniques on large, complex, structured / unstructured data sets to find out hidden patterns and predictive signals. As a Team Lead, you will lead a team of AI and ML experts to develop innovative solutions and intelligence for our clients, collaborate with clients and other PALO IT teams to design comprehensive end-to-end solutions, and contribute to the development of assets/accelerators to scale solutions and drive efficiency.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Team Lead: providing technical guidance, coaching, and managing career development plans for your mentees.
• Manage and mentor a team of professionals, including assigning tasks, providing guidance and feedback.
• Manage team members' performance and career development, including setting goals, providing regular feedback, and identifying opportunities for growth and development
• Foster a collaborative and innovative work culture within the team, encouraging continuous learning and professional development.
• Develop and implement roadmap that supports the team's goals and objectives
• Collaborate with the Sales team during pre-sales process to create proposals for potential clients
• Collaborate with clients and other PALO IT teams to understand client requirements, design comprehensive end-to-end approach, and implement AI and ML solutions that meet client’s needs
• Contribute to and participate in the development of assets/accelerators to scale solutions and drive efficiency
• Provide technical expertise in supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques and algorithms
• Monitor project progress, provide regular reports to management, and ensure timely and high-quality project and team delivery.
• Keep up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies, and make recommendations for improvement and innovation within the team and stakeholders
• Contribute to Palo IT thought leadership through research and publication support

YOUR PROFILE:

• You hold a Bachelor, Master or PhD degree in Computer Science, Statistics or related discipline, and strong academic performance with analytic and quantitative coursework
• 6+ years of experience in building and deploying machine learning/AI models
• Experience in coaching and career development, with a strong focus on helping team members achieve their full potential
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically
• Willingness to be part of a multi-disciplinary team to solve real business problems from ideation to implementation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and cross-functional team
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Knowledge of the latest trends in generative AI, including tools such as Langchain, LlamaIndex and prompt engineering

EXPERT KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE IN: 

• Open AI APIs, LLMs, and other relevant technologies
• Supervised/unsupervised machine learning techniques and algorithms
• Developing and fine-tuning deep-learning NLP models including LLMs. (Bonus if experience includes such models as a component of a larger ML pipeline or prompt engineering)
• Programming languages such as R, Python (NumPy, pandas), SPSS etc.
• Machine learning frameworks (e.g PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, Spark MLlib, Caffe)
• Data science platforms (e.g. Dataiku, Databricks, Snowflake, HuggingFace)
• Other machine learning deployment services and enablers (e.g. MLflow, Docker, FastAPI)
• Using SQL and data preparation activities including data wrangling, data modelling, data cleaning, feature engineering, and tokenization
• Data viz tools and/or charting libraries (eg. Tableau, Qlik, D3.js, GGplot, matplotlib, seaborn)

MUST HAVE:

• Consultancy experience
• Team Leadership
• A strong interest in AI technologies
• Developing and deploying end to end solutions (from POC to Production)

NICE TO HAVE:

• Generative AI
• Prompt Engineering Experience optimizing LLM token usage.
