About the role

Under the guidance of the Competitor Analytics Manager, you will become an integral part of a team of data analysts, working collaboratively with key partners across SEEK. Success in this role will be measured by your ability to deliver analytical solutions that offer valuable insights into SEEK's competitive positioning within the marketplace. This will involve developing dashboards, generating reports, and conducting comprehensive analyses.

We’re seeking a self-starter with strong problem-solving skills, the ability to navigate ambiguity, and comfort working in a fast-paced environment. You must demonstrate sound judgment under pressure, a solid background in analytics, and knowledge of report automation. Attention to detail, organizational excellence, and strong communication skills are essential.

The ideal candidate has a keen understanding of market dynamics with a proven ability to recognize partner needs and convert them into practical insights. You will help teams across the organization confidently track SEEK's competitive standing, evaluate how market changes affect our position, and communicate important performance indicators clearly

Responsibilities

  • Use SQL to extract, clean, and manipulate data from various sources (internal tracking as well as externally sourced data) to support reporting and analysis needs.
  • Design, build, and maintain dynamic dashboards and reports in Tableau to provide insights into key business metrics.
  • Automate data processes and reporting workflows using Python to streamline tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Perform data validation and triangulation to ensure the accuracy and consistency of data across different sources. Resolve discrepancies and ensure the integrity of the data before being used for analysis and reporting.
  • Continuously assess and improve reporting processes to ensure optimal performance and data accuracy.
  • Ensure that all reports and dashboards meet high standards for data quality, completeness, and consistency.
  • Document automated processes, reports, and data validation steps for transparency and future use. Provide support to users of reports and dashboards as needed.
  • Keep up with new analytics tools and methods to enhance analytics and reporting capabilities.

Essential skills and experiences

  • Proficiency in analytics, mathematics, and statistics, with tertiary qualifications in a related field (e.g., Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science) advantageous.
  • 1-5 years of experience working with large, complex datasets, delivering intuitive insights, and translating business needs into data and tracking requirements.
  • Strong SQL skills (Python proficiency and experience with Tableau or similar tools are a plus).
  • Proven track record working on projects with ambiguity and shifting priorities, collaborating with multi-functional teams.
  • Advanced analytical thinking with demonstrated ability to translate technical findings into clear, meaningful insights for various teams and leadership
  • Strong emotional intelligence, fostering trust and collaboration with an empathetic and inclusive communication style.
  • Exceptional organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills with attention to detail.
