Data Analyst (Sap data services / Information Steward)

Represent SA SAP Programme Data Owner’s interests in data object design
•       Provides input from the Business Unit in data object design
•       Cleans relevant master- and transactional data (each data object can potentially have multiple stewards from various Business Units / interest groups, for example, customers, vendors, materials, assets and finance objects)
•       Responsible for the following regarding data objects:
•     Account for management of data assets associated with the Business Unit
•     Understand all data associated with their function within the Business Unit
•     Escalate data governance issues to Data Owner
•     Monitor and measure compliance to policies, rules, procedures and standards
•       Liaise with other Data Stewards to build data repository for the SAP Programme
•       Define rules and standards per field in legacy data objects
•       Assist in definition of rules and standards per field for SAP data migration templates
•       Co-ordinate and ensure SAP template population is correct, complete and of the required quality
•       Evaluate data for cleansing and make recommendations to Data Owner
•       Ensure planned data cleansing / enrichment is uploaded / actioned (legacy)
•       Ensure adherence to SAP Data Migration Strategy including Computer System Validation requirements
•       Recommend and provide input into standards for data usage within Business Unit
•       Execute Mock Data Migration and data verification activities (e.g. generate reports for Data Owners to sign of migration as successful)
•       Execute trouble shooting and “fixing” of data defects found during Data Migration and Test Cycles
•       Provide input into design and training material relating to data objects
•       Provide input into data management processes for solution (e.g. create Material Master)
•       Work closely with Process- and Application Stewards as far as the data objects relate to the process and application
 

Key competencies and experience:
·       SAP functional experience
·       Functional areas – SAP Project systems, Production Planning, Quality Management, Materials Management, Sales & Distribution, Plant Maintenance - preferred
·       SAP project implementation experience (2 full-life-cycle implementations)
·       Advanced experience in the use of Excel (required)
·       Experience with MS Access - preferred
·       Experience in the use of data migration tools such as Data Services (preferred)
·       Experience in dealing with data in regulated environments (Pharmaceutical, Banking) preferred
·       Attention to detail
