Intro
We’re looking for a Data Analyst to join Feather. This is a full-stack data role at the intersection of insurance and B2C, two domains where data sits at the core of how decisions are made. You’ll work end-to-end with data, from building and improving transformation pipelines to working directly with stakeholders to turn raw data into clear insights they can act on.
Insurance is built on risk statistics, which requires large volumes of data. Combined with a fast-growing B2C product, this creates a uniquely data-intensive environment. At Feather, data is used across everything we do, from pricing and fraud detection to product decisions and new AI-driven initiatives.
Why work at Feather?
-
Data drives how we operate. You’ll work at the intersection of two highly data-driven worlds: insurance, which is built on statistics and risk, and a fast-moving B2C startup where data informs daily decisions.
-
A modern tech stack to work with. We run a lean, self-hosted data stack: Airbyte and dbt Core for extraction and transformation, BigQuery as our warehouse, and Metabase for BI. We are also fans of low-code solutions and n8n.
-
We’re small, lean, and we love what we do. The usual buzzwords here, except we actually mean them. Staying small helps us focus on what matters, and we want to keep it that way.
-
There's plenty of space to grow. We trust you to take ownership and make decisions from day one, and we will give you all the support and mentorship you need to succeed.
-
Flexible remote work policy. We offer a remote-first work environment with an office in Berlin. We host company retreats, team dinners, and meetups to spend in-person time together.
-
4-month sabbatical. After 4 years at Feather, you can take 4 months off, with financialsupport from us, to do whatever energizes you: travel the world, write a book, volunteere, or just unwind.
What you bring to the table
-
Great analytical skills. You decompose ambiguous problems and find solutions. You are curious about how things work, and proactively look for improvement areas everywhere.
-
Excellent communication and presentation skills. You are fluent in English and you know how to turn data into an engaging story.
-
Curiosity in learning new tech. You are not intimidated by technologies or tools you were never exposed to. You can jump in and figure them out.
-
Great knowledge of SQL for analytics. You write readable, maintainable SQL and think about how your work will be used by others over time.
You'll be responsible for
-
Work across all of the data lifecycle. The data analyst role at Feather is more “full-stack” than in most companies. You have the opportunity to contribute everywhere, from building data extraction and transformation pipelines, to making dashboards and finding improvement areas in the company using data.

Work all across Feather. You will collaborate with all of the teams at Feather. Here are some examples of the kind of work you will do:
- Help the marketing team test new channels and different approaches to the attribution model.
- Collaborate with the product team to develop the system of tracking events, and analyze the behaviour of our customer in our mobile app.
- Work together with the operations team to come up with metrics to measure efficiency of support calls.
- Analyze fraudulent customer behaviour together with the finance team.
- Take shifts in our Data Clinic — we encourage everyone in the company to be hands-on with data, and it’s a place where they can come for help from the data team
-
Promote data culture. You will run training sessions and company presentations, build documentation, and look for other ways to educate people about data.
What will the interview process look like?
-
An intro call with the hiring manager. We will get to know each other, and discuss a couple of topics regarding data analysis (30-45 minutes).
-
Hands-on analytics interview. We’ll give you a sample of data and a problem similar to one you will be working on at Feather. You will work on the task together with one of the data analysts from our team. You’ll have a chance to showcase how you tackle analytical problems, and write some SQL (2 hours).
-
Present your work to the team. You will present your work from the previous step to one of the people from our product, marketing, or operations teams. You will have a chance to discuss the company with someone outside the data team. (~45-60 minutes).
