Data Analyst - Insights (Paid Marketing Optimization)

At Preply, we're growing a talented Data Team to empower top-notch decision-making across our organization. Our team collaborates closely with various other chapters - including product, business, and platform - leveraging analysis, experimentation, causal inference, and machine learning.

You’ll be embedded in cross-functional teams, partnering with our MarTech Product Manager, Marketeers, Tech Leads, and the Data Strategy team. Check out our Tech Radar to see the tools and technologies we love using at Preply!

What you’ll be doing:  

  • Own and design Preply’s marketing performance dashboard in Looker, ensuring it serves as the single source of truth for decision-making;
  • Be the go-to person for our channel managers, conducting deep dives into channel performance, campaign performance and creative performance;
  • Perform elasticity analysis to identify saturated or high potential markets and channels and to  maximize our efficiency;
  • Setup automated processes with our Data Strategy team to identify outliers and in-efficiencies in our marketing spend;
  • Leverage SQL and LookML to build custom data models and explorers for self-serve analytics;
  • Work closely with our MarTech team and overlook the go-live of new marketing networks as well as tracking improvements, such as deep-links and cross-device tracking;
  • Weave together marketing measurement outputs from incrementality tests, attribution and MMM provided by the Data Science team and help stakeholders interpret results even if those insights are ambiguous;
  • Set up and lead weekly steering meetings with stakeholders to align on findings, identify gaps, and make data-informed budget and strategy decisions.

What you need to succeed:

  • Experience analyzing and handling data from web and app tracking tools such as GA4 or MMPs for marketing attribution and user journey analysis;
  • Proven track record working with network data such as Google Ads, TikTok or Meta and conducting deep-dives for marketing managers;
  • Comfort working with ambiguous data, and ability to guide stakeholders through uncertainty with clear recommendations;
  • Strong proficiency in SQL;
  • Experience with Looker, including hands-on use of LookML to build and maintain dashboards and data models;
  • Experience in environments with cross-device user behavior (web and app), and understanding of tracking complexities across platforms;
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, able to distill complex analyses into simple, impactful narratives.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with SKAN (StoreKit Ad Network) and privacy-preserving attribution methods on iOS;
  • Familiarity with experimentation platforms, uplift modeling, or Bayesian methods;
  • Experience in environments with cross-device user behavior (web and app), and understanding of tracking complexities across platforms.
